Miles Ahrens - Senior Pastor

Miles Ahrens graduated from Brown University in Bio-Medical Engineering and received his Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School. He was ordained to the ministry in 1981. Miles served with Campus Crusade for Christ for 24 years. During that time he pioneered the ministry at Yale University and served for 10 years as Regional Director in the Northeast. Miles became the Senior Pastor at Trinity in 2000. He and his wife, Kim, started dating in high school and have been married for over 40 years. They have three grown children, Matthew, David, and Megan, and one grandchild, Connor.

Jeff Keegan - Discipleship Pastor

Jeff Keegan loves Jesus, God's Word, and helping people meet God in Scripture. He also loves road biking with his brother and hanging with his four adult children and their spouses. He has been on the church staff since 2003. Previous to that he served with the Graduate Ministry of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Yale University for 12 years where he worked with the graduate and professional student fellowships. Jeff holds a Ph.D. in Theological and Biblical Studies (Old Testament) and a M. Div. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (B.A. Colgate University, mathematics). He is ordained to ministry by the Evangelical Free Church of America, and serves on district and national boards. His favorite contemporary singer/song writer and worship leader (after his daughter) is Amanda Cook.

Codi Bement - Youth Ministry Director

Codi Bement has southern roots, but has called Connecticut home since 2006.  Codi has nine years of experience in youth ministry and worked at Walnut Hill Community Church as the high school youth intern.  He was also employed as a coordinator at Family and Children's Aid, a non profit for abused adolescent boys, for almost five years.  After a two year position in Wisconsin as an Assistant Director of Program Activities at Camp Timber-Lee, Codi moved back to CT and joined Trinity as a youth volunteer. He is currently finishing his B.A. in History at Western Connecticut State University.  He is also an avid outdoorsman and loves watching the University of Florida Gators football in the fall!

Julia Culbertson - Sunday School Director

Julia Culbertson is an educator with a desire to serve the families at Trinity Church in her role as the Trinity Kids Director. Prior to this position, Julia taught high school Spanish for eight years and served at Trinity Church as the Preschool Education Coordinator for Sunday School and as a Small Group Leader. She also loves to sing in the Christmas Choir! Julia has a BA in Spanish Education from Grove City College and an Inter-University MA in Spanish Language and Culture from Central Connecticut State University and the University of Salamanca, Spain. She and her husband Kyle grew up attending Trinity Church together, and are now raising their three children in the Trinity family.

Sharon Culbertson - Preschool Director

Sharon Culbertson has been a member of Trinity Church since 1981 and has over twenty six years of experience teaching preschool.  She has directed Trinity Community Preschool for 16 years. Sharon served as the Youth Group Director at Trinity for 2 years and has volunteered for many ministries within the church over the years, including; Children's and Adult Sunday School, VBS, Sports Camp, Pioneer Girls Club, Women's Bible Study Leader and Prayer Team along with serving on various Nominating and Planning Committees. Sharon has an Associate's degree in Child Development, a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Studies, is a state certified head teacher for children ages 0-5 years and has earned the CT Director's Credential for Directors of Early Childhood Educational Programs. Sharon is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and The Association of Christian Schools International and Early Educators.  Sharon enjoys horseback riding and is an equestrian volunteer at a Therapeutic Horseback Riding Center, where she assists students with disabilities. She and her husband have 4 grown, married children and 7 grand-children.

Nancy Lindemann - Office Assistant

Nancy Lindemann has attended Trinity Church since 2004. She has been involved in various ministries for many years, and volunteered with the office ministry before joining Trinity staff in 2012 as office assistant. She and her husband Scott have four children, Christine, Eric, Hannah and Adam.

Amy Shek - Office Manager

Amy Shek is from Brooklyn, NY and has over 10 years of non-profit work experience. Prior to joining Trinity Church as office manager in 2013, she provided management support at the Yale-China Association and Connecticut Voices for Children in New Haven, and the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center in NYC. Amy received her B.A. in Health & Society from the University of Rochester and holds a M.S. in Management & Policy from Stony Brook University. She and her husband, Andrew Tan, have been attending Trinity since 2010, and their baby girl, Ava, happily attends Trinity Community Preschool.

Sam Taubl - Worship Director

Sam Taubl was born and raised in Derry, New Hampshire. He comes from a very musical family of 7 children. Sam started his education in music at age three when he picked up the cello. At age eight he was accepted into the Juilliard pre-college program in New York City. He continued his musical education at Juilliard until age 16. Sam lived in Port au Prince Haiti for a year after graduating from high school in 2011. He started a music program at an orphanage in the center of the city. From there Sam moved back to the states where he continued his missions work in New Haven. Sam was heavily involved with the worship ministry at Black Rock Church in Fairfield, CT for 4 years. Sam has also been an intern at SOUND Affect, a non-profit music education organization, for 6 years. He has 6 years of experience working with and mentoring both children’s and youth groups. In 2017, Sam took his first official job in ministry here at Trinity as the worship director and is excited to be a part of God’s plan for this community!

Emily Thomas - Administrative Assistant

Emily began attending Trinity Church in high school and has considered it her "church home" since then. When not working at church, her current career is predominantly "Mom," but she's had a career in the arts for the last ten years—from roles in production and location management for a soap opera to fundraising and development for a theatre company. Emily is passionate about the Worship Ministry and about using music as a way to communicate the power of the Gospel. She loves working through logistics and helping to plan and execute Trinity's worship services. She and her husband Danny have two kids, Elliott and Teddy.
